Crispy Chili Beef
Ingredients
500g rump steak
2 garlic cloves
2 red chillies
1 onion
4 spring onions
3cm chunk ginger
30g soy sauce
30g rice wine vinegar
40g sriracha
30g tomato ketchup
40g caster sugar
1 egg
75g cornflour
Salt and pepper
Vegetable oil
Method
- Slice the onion, spring onion and chillies and grate the garlic and ginger.
- Slice the rump steaks into very thin slices and put them in a large bowl. Mix the egg in well then add the cornflour, salt and pepper. Combine well until the steak is evenly coated.
- Heat up a generous amount of oil in a wok and add the beef in small amounts and fry until crispy. Take the steak out of the pan using a slotted spoon and continue until all the beef is cooked.
- Add the onion into the pan and fry for a couple of minutes. Then add in the spring onions, chillies, garlic and ginger.
- After 2 mins, stir in the ketchup, sriracha, vinegar, sugar and soy sauce. Reduce it down for a few minutes.
- Place the beef back in the pan and cook for 2 mins.
- Serve with rice or noodles.
