Ingredients
- 1 onion (chopped)
- 2 cloves of garlic (finely chopped)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 500g beef mince
- 1 egg
- 75g breadcrumbs
- 75ml semi-skimmed milk
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp parsley (chopped)
- 1 tbsp dried oregano
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
- 1 tbsp tomato puree
Glaze (Optional)
- 125ml tomato ketchup
- 1 tsp hot sauce
Method
- Pre-heat the oven to 170C. In a mixing bowl, combine all the meatloaf ingredients except the oil. Mix together using your fingers and shape into a loaf. Place on a baking tray greased with olive oil. Bake for 45 minutes.
- To make the optional glaze, while the meatloaf bakes, mix ketchup and hot sauce. After 45 minutes, brush the glaze over the top of the meatloaf. Return to the over for 15-20 minutes or until the loaf is cooked through.
