Guilt Free Kentucky Fried Chicken Fakeaway
It’s Fast Food Day! But we’re shaking things up this year without guilt-free Kentucky fried chicken fakeaway recipe. The best thing about it is you can easily pair it with corn on the cob and homemade chips for a healthy twist on a classic that’s friendly on your bank account too!Â

What You’ll Need:
For the spice mix:Â
1/2 tbsp saltÂ
1tbsp peppercornsÂ
½ tbsp dried onion flakesÂ
1tbsp paprikaÂ
1tbsp dried garlic granulesÂ
1tbsp dried rosemaryÂ
½ tbsp dried oregano
1/2 tbsp mustard seedsÂ
1tsp dried thymeÂ
1tsp dried tarragonÂ
For the chicken:Â
2 large chicken breastsÂ
1 egg (beaten)
1tsp olive oilÂ
1tbsp of spice mixÂ
25g breadcrumbsÂ
Method:
For the spice mix:Â
- Place all of the ingredients into your food processor or mini chopper and pulse until the mixture reaches a fine powder
For the chicken:Â
- Preheat oven to 180CÂ
- Take your spice mix and combine with breadcrumbs in a bowlÂ
- Cut each chicken breast into slicesÂ
- Dip chicken into egg, then roll around in the spice and breadcrumb mixÂ
- Put on a baking tray that has been coated in olive oil and drizzle a little more over the chicken.Â
- Cook for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through cooking
You can also use chicken drumsticks or pieces for this recipe. Just make sure you cook them in the oven for the appropriate amount of time and always ensure they are cooked through!
