Ingredients

500g turkey mince

65g breadcrumbs

3tbsp olive oil

1tbsp garlic, crushed

1tbsp lemon juice

1 medium onion, diced

2tbsp fresh dill, chopped

1/2 tsp cumin

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

4 burger buns

Lettuce, red onion and tomato for the toppings

Tzatziki

Method

  1. In a large pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil until sizzling hot. Add onions and garlic and cook until tender and slightly browned. Set aside on a plate for 5 minutes to cool slightly.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add the turkey mince, onion and garlic, breadcrumbs, dill, lemon juice, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine everything together.
  3. Shape the turkey mixture with your hands to form a firm ball. Cover the bowl with cling film and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, up to overnight.
  4. Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts and use your hands to roll them into balls, shaping them into patties by flattening them in the palm of your hand.
  5. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in the pan until sizzling hot and place in the patties until nicely seared and starting to brown up the sides. Flip the patties over and cook for another 3-5 minutes, until they are cooked through.
  6. Slice the hamburger buns in half and toast them on the grill, if desired.
  7. Assemble the burgers and drizzle tzatziki sauce on top to finish.
  8. Serve with a side of your choice.
